The Today show crew always has great costumes and this year was no different. Take a look at the pics as the Plaza was turned into the Royal Wedding.

Matt Lauer and Ann Curry play Will and Kate on their wedding day, and Meredit Viera returned to the show to play the Queen. Al Roker’s costume was perhaps the best; he played Prince Harry. Natalie Morales was dressed as Kate’s sister Pippa, and Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb played Beatrice and Eugenie, royal daughters of Prince Andrew and Fergie.

Each wig worn by the TODAY gang took up to 40 hours to make, using a half-pound each of hair!

By now you have all watched the splendor of the Royal Wedding. Carriages, flowers, cake, crazy hats, and crowds. But standing out against the pomp and circumstance of the affair was Kate Middlton, drawing gasps in an Alexander McQueen wedding dress. And while the billows of white fabric drew plenty of eyes, the jewelry topped off her look perfectly. We take a look at the diamonds befitting a princess.

Kate chose to wear the Cartier “halo” tiara, which has a long history. It was made in 1936 and purchased by the Duke of York (later King George VI) for his wife, Elizabeth’s mother (also Elizabeth). Queen Elizabeth received it as an 18th-birthday present, at which time she was Princess Elizabeth.

Kate’s earrings were custom-made by Robinson Pelham to match her tiara. The diamond drops, presented to her by her parents are adorned with acorn motifs, inspired by the family’s new crest.

Kate’s wedding band is Welsh gold by Wartski, which also crafted Welsh-gold wedding bands for Prince Charles and Camilla.

The Royal Wedding: What To Expect

It’s finally upon us. After months of anticipation Catherine Middleton and Prince William will tie the knot. Find out what to expect from the day’s ceremony from the guests, to the flowers, to the dress, and of course the jewelry.

The Location: The St. Peters Church in Westminster Abbey, has been the traditional venue of Royal Weddings since the 11th Century. Prince William and Kate’s ceremony will begin at 11 AM but the guest are expected to arrive at 8:45 AM.

The Photographer: Hugo Burnand will be The Royal Wedding’s official photographer.

Flowers: Shane Connolly a London-based floral designer has been chosen to do the flower arrangements at the Royal Wedding. catherine’s bouquet will be filled with gardenias, lily of the valley delphiniums, roses and of course a sprig of myrtle from the original bush in Queen Victoria’s wedding. She will lay them at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

Transport: Kate will arrive in a Rolls Royce. They will exit in the 1902 State Landau carriage that Princess Diana and Prince Charles drove away in on their wedding day.

The Dress: So many rumors! The head of Alexander McQueen was seen entering her hotel.

Guest List: The wedding is expecting 1,900 including members of the Royal Family, foreign Royal Families and some celebrity friends like Victoria and David Beckham, Guy Ritchie, and Elton John. 650 guest are invited to the afternoon affair at the Buckingham Palace, hosted by Queen Elizabeth.

Dinner: Just 300 have been invited.

The Menu: Two-bite hors d’oeurves, yorkshire pudding with roast beef and horseradish cream, bubble and squeak confit with lamb shoulder, smoked salmon, herbed crepes and cornish pasties.

The Cake: The wedding cake will be a multi-tiered traditional fruit cake with multiple leaf-and-flower encrusted tiers, English roses, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil and Irish shamrock.

Honeymooon Plans: The Prince and Princess will indulge themselves for two luxurious weeks on Necker Islands, Richard Branson’s private island.

The most important thing, The Ring: Prince William will not wear a ring but Kate will be given a special heirloom given by Queen Elizabeth to Prince William. A small nugget of gold mined from the Welsh Mountains which has been transformed into a simple gold ring. Her engagement ring was Diana’s and is 14 diamonds encircling a sapphire.

The Guest List For The Royal Wedding?

The upper echelons of society have been checking the mail for the centuries most coveted invitation. And now, it seems the list of those who will be receiving the gilded Save the Date has been released. Among the 650 people are British celeb-royals, and of course, actual British Royals…

According to the Daily Mail, the invites were split up as follows: 250 by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall; 50 by the Queen; 250 guests jointly chosen by the royal couple; and 100 guests invited by Kate’s parents.

David and Victoria Beckham, Guy Ritchie, Kate’s ex-boyfriend Rupert Finch, and all of William’s exes (that’s six exes in total between the two) have been invited. Former English rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward, and comedian Rowan Atkinson (a.k.a. Mr. Bean) are also on the list.

It is sure to be the Wedding of the Century.No date has been released but royal experts believe it should take place within the next few months, which is how long Prince Charles and Diana waited after becoming engaged.

The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.

The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.

Prince William and Miss Middleton became engaged in October during a private holiday in Kenya. Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton¹s father.

Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force.
